Purple Lady

I have always written poetry.

Since a child I have used words to explain, express thoughts and feelings and attempt to solve the world around me.

I write for myself and no one else. If my writing strikes a note of empathy or recognition in others then that is fine and good. But it is not my aim.

My recent bout of writing was triggered by the death of my husband. Without my writing I would have found daily life difficult at times. A poem allows me to place the feelings and thoughts that are current into a form that I can hold in my hand and then place in a box with a label.

I can open this box when I wish.
